Psychotherapy

Individual Psychotherapy.

60 mins
$150

Therapy is not for the faint of heart or those reluctant to delve into themselves. The key is that though this is intense, therapy means that you are not alone in this search for deeper understanding but we will be together through the descent. My approach includes personality development, attachment, schemas, and interpersonal means of relating. I tailor my approach to each patient’s needs and goals, and the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of individual therapy.

Couples Therapy.

90 mins
$300

Couples therapy does not necessarily mean “couple,” as I am experienced and trained to work with uncommon relationship structures.  From monogamous couples, to poly quods, to cheating husbands...

Common issues addressed…

Learning to listen and communicate effectively and end repetitive argument cycles

adult attachment styles and the impact they have on your relationships

Identifying strategies to manage intense emotions

Rebuild trust and renew intimacy

LGBTQIA Specific Therapy

There are unique challenges to being a member of the LGBTQIA community. I am prepared to help you destroy those challenges.

First of all. You do not need therapy if you are gay/trans. You need therapy because of the way mainstream society treats trans/gay people. It is exhausted to live in a culture where an identity places you on the outside.

Sex Therapy

60 min
$175

I am a sex-positive therapist with extensive training, meaning that there is no judgement, shaming, questioning of a sexual preferene or practice. Sexual fetishes, BDSM/Kink, erectile dystfunction, porn consumption, sex work...I am well versed and enjoy the rare moment when a patient surprises me. Consent necessary!

Group Therapy

90 mins
$150

Benefits of Group Therapy

  1. The instillation of hope creates a feeling of optimism.

  1. Universality helps group members realize that they are not alone in their impulses, problems, and other issues.

  2. Imparting information helps to educate and empower people with knowledge pertaining to their specific psychological situation.

  3. Altruism allows clients to gain a sense of value and significance by helping other group members.

  4. Corrective recapitulation provides for the resolution of family and childhood events within the safety of the group family.

  5. Socializing techniques promote social development, tolerance, empathy and other interpersonal skills.

  6. Through imitative behavior group members learn to adopt the coping strategies and perspectives of other group members.

  7. Interpersonal learning teaches clients how to develop supportive interpersonal relationships.

  8. Group cohesiveness gives members a sense of acceptance, belonging, value, and security.

  9. Catharsis releases suppressed emotions and promotes healing by disclosing information to group members.

  10. Existential factors incorporate learning how to just exist as part of something larger than oneself. This factor brings a client into the awareness that life will continue on, with pain, death, sadness, regret, and joy. By living existentially, clients learn how to accept these conditions without escaping from them. Instead, they learn how to live with them and through them.

Previous Speaking Engagements:

7/25/19 Speaker at the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference

Dismantling Sexual Scripts GNC/NB Sexuality

  • Sexual expression and adherence to the binary supports heteronormative sexual scripts, which detract from the full experience one can have as a sexual being. Non-binary, gender non-conformity is a challenge to not only the expression of gender, but a challenge to traditional sex roles and an opportunity to learn new ways of having satisfying, pleasure filled sex.

The Basics of Sex Offender Treatment for Clinical Social Works

  • The therapeutic treatment of sex offenders has advanced rapidly as clinicians adopt a strength-based approach and research studies provide more insight into the etiology of sexual deviance. As a result, treatment programs based on the Good Lives Model framework have replaced the older, punitive treatment models. This workshop is an introduction to sex offender specific treatment and will provide social workers with a basic understanding of clinical work with the sex offender population.
